A Personal Mission in Progress.

There are moments in life when words fail us. When stress, trauma, or difference makes verbal communication impossible. But communication doesn’t stop, it simply changes form.

That belief sits at the heart of The Unspoken Communication Project.

This is more than just a business idea. It’s a personal mission born from lived experience and a fierce commitment to inclusion. I created this project because I’ve seen what happens when people are misunderstood in the moments that matter most, especially in emergency situations.

I’ve seen the fear and frustration that can come from being unable to explain, ask for help, or feel heard. I’ve also seen the power of something as simple as a hand gesture, a calm presence, or an Auslan sign used correctly to instantly change everything.

Why I’m Doing This

The Unspoken Communication Project is my response to the communication gaps that still exist, especially between emergency responders and the communities, especially people who are deaf or have a disability. My goal is to empower individuals, teams, and organisations with the tools to connect more effectively through Auslan, body language, tone, or visual cues.

Everyone has the right to feel seen, heard, and safe; even when they can’t speak.

And I believe that our first responders, those who show up first in times of crisis, deserve training that equips them to understand and support all people, no matter how they communicate.

It’s Still a Work in Progress

This project is still unfolding. I’m building the foundations, crafting resources, running pilot sessions, and dreaming big. There are challenges, learning curves, and lots of behind-the-scenes work. But every step forward is one step closer to real change.

If you’re reading this, thank you. Your interest and support mean everything.

Let’s Stay Connected

I’ll be sharing more over the coming weeks; workshop updates, Auslan content, training tips, and much more!

Whether you’re a first responder, managers, a family member, someone who uses Auslan, or simply someone who believes in inclusive communication, this space is for you.

Let’s break the silence together.

Let’s build a world where communication is never a barrier to safety or connection.
